Kevin Na and Jerry Kelly lead the away after day 2 at The Players, Na's 8 under par was matched by Kelly as he carded the lowest round of the day to reach the top of the leaderboard.
Kelly made a total of 8 birdies including one at 17 on his way to a brilliant 7-under-par-65. It leaves him at 8 under for the opening 2 days and tied with Na 2, shots clear of their closest competitors.
Rickie Fowler is sitting just 2 shots back after a second consecutive 3-under-par round. 4 birdies and only one dropped shot on day 2 meant he is still within touching distance of the leaders. If anyone can get within 2 of the leader with 17 and 18 to play, there will always be a chance to catch them at Sawgrass.
Russell Henley found that out on day 2, he had battled well to reach 7 under par for the event, but the tough finish meant he dropped 3 in the final 2 holes to finish just 4 under par.
Rory McIlroy had another average round by his standards, the world number one only managed to card a 1 under par 71, which leaves him 4 under in total and 4 back. He can still make a move on Saturday and is not too far off the pace so lets see what moving day brings.
Defending champion Martin Kaymer, is also sitting just five back from the leaders at 3-under-par. He has struggled for form so far in 2015 but 2 good opening days at Sawgrass could see him back on track.
There are some big name player who found it bit too difficult this week, amongst them were Jordan Spieth, Phil Mickelson, Lee Westwood, Justin Rose and Danny Willett. They were all over the even par cut line which Tiger Woods just narrowly made.
Tiger is having a really up and down time at them moment, he is showing some great form but at the same time some poor form. He has made a total of 11 birdies in 2 rounds but dropped as many shots. Every birdie he made on day 2 was almost instantly followed by a bogey. He is showing some flashes of brilliance, its not easy to make 11 birdies in 2 rounds at Sawgrass, but he needs to keep the bogies off his card, lets hope we see the old Tiger back soon.
