The Masters is finally here and its looking like its going to be a great event as always. The worlds best are all on show and in good form plus Tiger Woods has retuned to competitive golf after a 9 week break.
The 14 time Major champion looked relaxed and happy as he played his first par 3 competition since 2004 alongside kids Sam, Charlie and pruner Lindsey Vonn
As always the Par 3 competition was a great way to start Masters week, Camilo Villegas made 2 hole-in-ones but the biggest cheer came when legend Jack Nicklaus holed out on the 4th. The par 3 contest is always a relaxed way to start what is sure to be a tightly fought week, many of the players had their kids, friends or partners caddying, which is sure to take off some pressure temporarily.
Kevin Streelman was the winner of the par 3 contest this year, which means he may have just blown his chances of winning the green jacket. But records are there to be broken right?
With the fun out of the way it is time to get to the serious stuff, and I'm sure this week we will see some great golf at what is arguably the worlds most exciting event. I'm happy to see Tiger Woods back and enjoying the game again, it seems like he has been taking it too seriously lately so lets hope he can find his form on the course this week.
Rory McIlroy is the favourite to take the green jacket this year and the young star seems to be in good form and enjoying himself this already this week. He is confident about winning at least one Masters title in his career even if its not this one.
But he will have some tough competition from defending champion Bubba Watson, Jason Day and an in form Jordan Spieth.
My favourite to take the Green Jacket this week is still Rory, but I don't think Bubba Watson will give up his title easily.
