With only two events until the Masters and places still up for grabs, we take a look at this weeks PGA Tour event in Texas.
The PGA Tour heads to San Antonio for the Valero Texas Open, the JW Marriott TPC in San Antonio will host some of the worlds best players and being one of the hardest courses on the PGA Tour circuit averaging 73.286 last year, they will be in for a challenging week.
Steven Bowditch took the title in 2014, he had taken a one shot lead after day 2 and held on to win. His final score for Sunday +4, which was good enough for him to take it by 1.
The Valero Texas Open is usually subjected to high winds and tough conditions, and this week may be no different with strong winds expected on Sunday.
Favorites for this week include Jordan Spieth, Jimmy Walker, Dustin Johnson and Ryan Palmer. Johnson and Spieth have already picked up wins in 2015 and will be looking to add to their total, along a chance to build momentum for the Masters.
Being a Dallas native Spieth will have the crowd behind him, but Johnson is also in great form at the moment after picking up his first win after a 6 month break in his last event. I think Spieth could take this one, just because of his current form and the backing of a home crowd.
Danny Lee also makes an appearance this week, he was tipped to be one of the worlds best player when he became the youngest winner of the US Amateur championship and took his first European Tour title at 19. Since then he has struggled to find top form, but I'm sure the future will be bright for the talented young golfer.
Be sure to keep updated as The Texas Open always provides excitement, who can remember Kevin Na's meltdown in 2011??
